Assemble Papers 10: Housing
Launched in Melbourne in 2012, Assemble Papers is a print and digital publication for small footprint living, which focuses on related topics in the fields of art, design, architecture, urbanism, and the environment. For an issue with the theme 'Housing', I contributed an article entitled 'The Great Disruption: Proptech & Generation Rent'. Drawing upon research conducted in London as part of the Harvard GSD’s Richard Rogers Fellowship program, the piece links the simultaneous explosion of build-to-rent ‘housing as a service’ models and disruptive ‘proptech’ startups to the increasingly constrained housing choices faced by ‘Generation Rent’. The tenth issue of Assemble Papers was launched as part of the programming for the fifth MPavilion, which was designed by Carme Pinós.
This volume of the magazine also includes interviews with Saskia Sassen, Assemble, and Jack Self.
