Assemble Papers 8: Metropolis
Launched in Melbourne in 2012, Assemble Papers is a print and digital publication for small footprint living, which focuses on related topics in the fields of art, design, architecture, urbanism, and the environment. For an issue with the theme 'Metropolis', I contributed an article entitled 'Co-op City: Zürich's Experiment in Non-Profit Housing'. The piece traces the roots of today's Swiss cooperative housing model in the 1980s squatter movement, and explores its possible replicability in other cities internationally. For the accompanying documentation of the Kalkbreite project, I collaborated with Ciro Miguel. The eighth issue of Assemble Papers was launched as part of the programming for the fourth MPavilion, which was designed by OMA.
This volume of the magazine also includes interviews with Mimi Zeiger, Dan Hill, and David Gianotten.
