2050: Designing Our Tomorrow
Architectural Design (AD) is a bi-monthly journal that has explored cutting edge design and the architectural avant garde since the 1960s. For an issue guest edited by Chris Luebkeman of ARUP Foresight based around the theme '2050: Designing Our Tomorrow', I contributed, with Alfredo Brillembourg and Hubert Klumpner, an essay entitled 'El Sur Global: Future Resilient City'. The piece explores a vision of urban life in the year 2050, inspired by the fluidity and adaptation evoked in Andrea Branzi's depiction of the city as a 'high-tech favela'.
This issue of the magazine also includes contributions from Paola Antonelli, Tim Brown, SHoP Architects, Daniel Kraft, and Alex McDowell.
